A special 80th birthday celebration was held for General Chuck Yeager on May 1, 2003, at the Doubletree Hotel Legacy in Plano, Texas. Entertainment was provided by the famed Oak Ridge Boys, and proceeds from the celebration benefited the General Chuck Yeager Foundation. The General Chuck Yeager Foundation has already given out $100,000 to scholarships and aviation programs for kids.
